Product Owners are responsible for identifying product gaps, defining product requirements, engaging with clients to understand market needs and, ultimately, delivering quality software that generates revenue. Product Owners also support our commercial and support efforts as product experts.
In this position, you'll lead product roadmap initiatives end-to-end through the Software Development Life Cycle; this includes but is not limited to leading client initiatives, gathering and defining requirements, designing products, overseeing software development of focus areas, acceptance testing, documentation, release readiness and product launch.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Job Related Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial technology, preferably with experience in middle-to-back office systems comparable to portfolio accounting and product design / business analysis / product management experience. Familiarity with user experience/UI design is a plus.

Functional Area Skills/Knowledge:
  • Deep experience in researching and understanding client and market requirements to develop short and long term product roadmaps and plans
  • Knowledge of product design principles and processes, as well as agile software development methodologies
  • Strong communications skills, including the ability to engage with clients and prospects to understand their business and operations requirements
  • Understanding of the investment management industry, business practices and operations. Middle-to-back office experience with either a technology vendor or with an asset manager is preferred.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills, as well as attention to detail
  • Self motivated - 'Find a way to get it done' attitude

Responsibilities:

  • Lead product roadmap initiatives end to end through the Software Development Life Cycle as Product Owner for an agile development scrum team
  • Gather requirements, design solutions, conduct acceptance testing, create user documentation, and support launch of new product features in focus areas
  • Serve as the expert in focus areas, staying abreast of competitor activity, market activity, partnership opportunities and regulatory issues while maintaining a list of potential product enhancements for focus areas
  • Support sales, marketing and client support efforts related to focus areas
  • Performs other duties as required
