Job Description
Job Title: Radiologic Technologist
Job Specialty: Computed Tomography
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Full time Midnights every other weekend with a combination of 2 12-hour shifts and 2 8-hour shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Experience: Minimum years of experience required is unspecified
License: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and the advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or be registry-eligible
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certified

Job Description:
- Specialize in performing computed tomographic radiological procedures on patients and may conduct general diagnostic radiology examinations.
- Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the examination.
- Review clinical data and perform appropriate examinations based on requisition and additional patient medical history information.
- Prepare procedure room and replenishes stock, such as linen and related supplies.
- Analyze anatomical structure, set up equipment, and conduct CT scans.
- Manually control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information.
- Administer intravenous contrast media and monitor patient reactions, providing immediate care if necessary.
- Set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for procedures; ensure adequate supplies are properly stored.
- Assist in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies.
- Perform all imaging procedures with a focus on radiation protection principles.
- Resolve image exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery into the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS); complete study indexing in the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Confirm clinical protocols with Radiologists as needed before performing studies.
- Consistently demonstrate team member standards of excellence including open communication, timely responses, positive attitude, and innovation.
- Complete all necessary documentation in medical and radiology information systems for clinical and billing functions.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
- Work may occur in a hospital with a fixed unit or in an ambulatory mobile unit.
- Potential exposure to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and contagious patients if precautions are not utilized.
- Occasionally lift and/or move equipment and/or patients in excess of 10 lbs.
Education:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
- Must maintain required hours of continued medical education.
