Description:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our growing team. As an integral part of the Technical Writing department, the successful applicant will be responsible for creating and maintaining top-tier technical documentation in support of our embedded software products. CoreAVI, A Lynx Software Technologies Company, is a highly successful safety critical solution provider and has led the definition of enabling standards such as the OpenGL SC 2.0 specifications. We are a key participant within the Khronos Group defining new safety critical graphics and compute standards, as well as members of the VITA hardware standards group.
The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering teams and project stakeholders to ensure the timely creation and delivery of accurate, complete, user-focused technical documentation. They will work and communicate effectively with our geographically and culturally diverse team members.

Main Responsibilities:
- Researching, organizing, writing, and editing customer-facing and internal technical content
Supporting internal and external users by identifying and filling gaps in conceptual and procedural content to facilitate product adoption and mitigate technical support requests - Collaborating with subject matter experts, development teams, program managers, and QA to ensure timely content creation that meets established deadlines
- Creating graphical components for technical documents
- Reviewing and refining technical content created by team members to ensure it is accurate, meets industry and editorial standards, and optimizes reusability
- Leading documentation projects, mentoring teammates, promoting documentation best practices, and representing the Technical Writing team as required
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of documentation standards, processes, tools, content, and visual appeal of our documentation product
Required Skills:
- University degree in a relevant field and a post-graduate designation in technical writing, or a combination of education and equivalent experience
- 5+ years of full-time experience in technical writing, preferably in an embedded software development organization
- Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional, geographically and culturally diverse teams
- Ability to understand and communicate complex design, integration, and operational workflows
- Knowledge of hardware and software tools, processes, and concepts at a fundamental level that facilitates user advocacy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in DITA and XML authoring tools, Markdown, Adobe and Microsoft suites, content or learning management systems, version control (SharePoint, Git), and Jira
- A keen eye for detail, pattern recognition, and analytical problem-solving
Nice to Haves:
- Formal training or work experience in instructional design and development (eLearning, traditional classroom, and hybrid), information architecture, simplified English, and technical knowledge management
- Familiarity with industry quality and safety standards such as AS9100, MISRA, ISO26262, DO-178, and DO-254
- Experience implementing or contributing to the roll-out of DITA or XML authoring to transition linear MS Word documents into topic-based, reusable content
