Job Summary
The Director of Maintenance and Transportation is responsible for the planning, organization, coordination, and supervision of the district's facilities maintenance and transportation operations. This role ensures that district and county facilities, buildings, and grounds are safe, functional, and well-maintained, while also overseeing the transportation department, which comprises approximately 70% of the department's workload due to the district's large geographical area.
The Director is expected to implement efficient management systems, streamline work order tracking, maintain transparent procedures, and ensure compliance with contract policies and required JPA (Cal/OSHA & insurance liability) procedures and regulations. Additionally, the Director will work collaboratively with administrative staff and the Superintendent to optimize resources and improve operational efficiency.
