Nature of Work:

Under general supervision, works closely with corporate and/or regional advertising sales staff to facilitate the selling of media advertising by scheduling meetings both in-person and virtually, delivering presentations, providing plans, research and marketing elements that meet the needs of clients and agencies.

Examples of work performed:
  • Manage the day-to-day stewardship of assigned accounts
  • Engage in all stages of the sales cycle, from prospecting, researching and strategizing to developing customer relationships, negotiating and closing business
  • Meet and speak with key decision makers and develop advertising plans that target client's specific needs and strategies
  • Create and deliver customized presentations to existing and potential customers in an effort to maintain and increase existing budgets and develop new business
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and accountability through consultative selling
  • Expand sales footprint with both existing and potential accounts by introducing new ideas and opportunities across all OSG properties and partnerships
  • Complete sales activity reports and forecasts as required by sales management
  • Meet and exceed quarterly and annual sales goals both on-air and online while maintaining price and product integrity to ensure maximum company profitability
  • Work together with split partners in NY and throughout the country by gathering and sharing information in order to maintain and grow existing business and generate new business
  • Work with Pricing & Planning, Marketing, Sponsorship and Research departments to strategize and create media packages that will maximize company profitability
  • Provide analytical support, updates and overviews to sales management on status of business as well as the latest industry marketplace and trends
  • Represent networks and websites in order to procure meetings at various trade shows and conferences
  • Ability to maintain an active travel schedule in order to cover assigned territories
  • Partner with and support other Account Executives, Sales Planners, Sales Assistants and Pricing and Planning management as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Minimum
  • Bachelor's degree, required.
  • Minimum 5+ years professional experience within advertising sales experience across multiple media.

  • Solid interest in the outdoors and comfort with hunting and fishing sports
  • Superior sales, presentation, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel as needed

  • Analytical perspective and familiarity with basic media research tools
  • Attention to detail and excellent organization skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines and understand when to escalate potential issues
  • Basic math skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to use tact and diplomacy; must be a team player
  • Ability to recognize discrepancies and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise and diplomacy. Requires ability to use judgment and reasoning skills and determine when issues need to be elevated
