Job Summary:
The Manager of Training and Development is responsible for improving the productivity of the organization's employees. This position assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for employees. This position actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance.
Responsible for the design, execution, and maintenance of a robust training and development of a management training program. Also responsible for collaborating with HR leaders to project manage major HR initiatives for Unity Health Care and its subsidiary companies. The Specialist will work in partnership with executive team to align staff training and development with leadership and management training to create a continuum of learning across the organization that is accessible, relevant and timely.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Management Training and Leadership Development
- Conducts annual training and development needs assessment.
- Develops training and development programs and objectives.
- Administers spending against the departmental budget.
- Obtains and /or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
- Trains and coaches managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts.
- Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for employee development and training events.
- Develops and maintains organizational communications such as intranet boards and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
- Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
- Modifies programs as needed.
- Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
- Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR staff.
Organizational Development
- Through gathering various forms of data, clearly defines and outlines the differences and similarities in organizational structure.
- Maintains up to date org charts and assures job descriptions are generated for all positions. Reviews them for accuracy and clarity.
- Coordinates change management efforts from the HR department to align with Unity's overall change management activities.
Project Management
- Collaborates with HR leadership to gather and interpret data from exit and stay interviews and presents necessary information to the HR team with supporting best practices for strengthening any gaps in the employee experience.
- Facilitates staff climate surveys and presents data to HR leadership.
- Partners with HR leadership on special projects such as: new hire onboarding and orientation, recruitment, compensation program, HR compliance, employee recognition and retention, employee relations, performance management, and staff learning and development.
- Partners with the Director of Workforce Development & Training administering Unity's LMS platform.
- Introduces various staff support initiatives such as Just Culture, Joy in Work, and Care for the Caregiver.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
- Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
- Ability to design and implement effective training and development.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
- Five to seven years of experience designing and implementing employee development programs.
- Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential preferred.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
