The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing various accounting functions and providing financial expertise for corporate operations. Includes financial reporting, general ledger management, financial analysis, consolidation, intercompany accounting, internal controls, auditing, and management reporting.
This role is a seasoned professional who applies advanced job knowledge to achieve operational goals. Works independently with limited supervision. May manage projects and processes to improve efficiencies. May coach and review the work of junior employees. Problems faced are typically difficult and sometimes complex. Demonstrates integrity, accountability and transparency; upholds BKV standards, values and culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Typical job responsibilities of the SENIOR CORPORATE ACCOUNTANT include:
- Prepare and analyze accurate and timely financial reports for corporate operations, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies.
- Oversee the general ledger for corporate accounts, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Coordinate the consolidation of financial statements for multiple business units or subsidiaries. Handle intercompany transactions, eliminations, and reconciliations.
- Conduct financial analysis and performance evaluations of corporate operations. Provide recommendations for business improvement and cost optimization.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather necessary information and provide financial insights for decision-making.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of internal control procedures to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with financial policies and regulations.
- Support external audits and coordinate with auditors to provide necessary documentation and information.
- Manage complex accounting tasks and make financial recommendations for the organization.
- May guide staff accountants and provide coaching and feedback as needed.
- Stay abreast of relevant accounting principles and regulations.
- Perform other duties as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Understanding of natural gas industry standards, market trends, emerging issues, and regulatory requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including management reporting.
- Knowledge of US GAAP accounting standards, IFRS knowledge a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and job-related applications. Uses understanding of digital concepts to create basic digital tools.

- This position is located in Denver, CO at BKV Headquarters. Remote work will be considered.
- Indoor working environment that requires the ability to perform repetitive motions and operate standard office equipment.
- May occasionally be exposed to distracting noise while sharing office space with others.
- Some travel up to 10% may be required.
