POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

KKCS is seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler to support rail and transit projects in Los Angeles, CA. This full-time, onsite role is based at the PMO office in Downtown Los Angeles and involves the creation and management of project schedules for multi-billion alternative delivery transit programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Scheduling & Project Controls:
  • Provide and oversee Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling using Primavera P6 for design and construction of rail transit projects.
  • Develop, update, and analyze detailed execution schedules for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Establish baseline schedules, including review of durations, logic, resources, costs, cost curves, and resource histograms.
  • Review and analyze periodic CPM schedule updates, providing detailed comparison reports and comprehensive reviews.
  • Perform Earned Value Analysis (EVA) and generate performance reports.
  • Manage schedule change processes, including reviewing change orders and conducting Time Impact Analyses (TIA) to evaluate potential delays.
  • Identify and recommend recovery strategies, including conducting What-If scenario analyses.
  • Collaborate with project teams to assess risks, create accurate forecasts, and provide schedule recovery solutions as needed.
  • Reporting & Communication:
  • Provide detailed schedule analysis and recommendations to the Project Team and Executive Management.
  • Support project controls by preparing clear and concise project reports and documentation.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting and identification of project risks.


QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:
  • Minimum 15 years of project scheduling experience within transportation and transit projects.
  • At least 5 years of rail field construction experience is required.
  • Demonstrated experience working on large-scale, multi-phased transit programs in a PMO or program management setting.
  • Strong understanding of schedule risk analysis, recovery planning, and delay mitigation strategies.
  • Experience in developing financial forecasts, change order analysis, and extension of time assessments.


Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or additional certifications is a plus.


Certifications (Preferred):
  • PMP, PMI-SP, or AACE certification preferred.


Core Competencies:
  • Strong organizational and scheduling abilities for complex, multi-phased transit projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of identifying schedule risks and implementing successful mitigation strategies.
  • Knowledge of federal funding programs and regulatory requirements is advantageous.
