The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement is seeking highly skilled and results orientated leader as Director, North Property Management for an exciting permanent opportunity. This position within the Property Management Branch, will focus on regional property management and building operations. In this role, you will provide leadership, oversight, coaching and support to build a diverse and inclusive high performing team who are responsible for the delivery of customer-oriented services.

Typically, the knowledge and experience required to be successful in this position would have been obtained through the completion of a post-secondary accreditation in a trade, engineering discipline, or business administration. The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Property Management, this position is responsible for:
- Setting the direction and vision for regional property management and building operation in the north region.
- Providing leadership in the identification, prioritization, development, and implementation of operational maintenance, environmental sustainability, major facility maintenance and capital projects.
- Preparing and executing financial and strategic plans for the region and ensuring performance is analyzed on a regular basis for use in subsequent decision-making and to support continuous improvement.
- Providing leadership, mentoring and professional development to the staff of regional property management, with a strong focus on workplace training, career development, safety training, and implementation of appropriate safety practices.
- Leading a team of property management professionals supporting clients in effective and efficient service delivery, recognizing, and implementing innovative solutions while focusing on operational service requirements.
- Representing ministry and division priorities and interests through activities that support commitments contained in negotiated Operational Agreements or other similar partnership agreements for high-use properties (such as Correctional facilities; Saskatchewan Polytechnic Institutes; Highways' facilities; Provincial Capital Commission grounds, etc.).
- With a focus on the impact to regional facilities and efficient management, participating as part of the management team for the division and collaborating with colleagues on:
- Planning and real estate strategies, including building acquisitions, transfers, disposals and leasing opportunities.
- Technical building issues with a focus on preventative and major maintenance for all buildings and properties throughout the region.
- Construction projects, including prioritization to address specific needs or concerns, support during construction phase, and managing and issues related to client impacts.
- Ensuring the Ministry's Safety Management Program is being delivered according to the Ministry's safe work procedures and OH&S legislation. Provide a safe work environment for staff and clients.
The Ideal Candidate:
As our successful candidate you will be a strong communicator who has significant leadership experience at a senior level and demonstrate the following:
- The ability to lead a property management team responsible for the operation and maintenance of a number of large complex facilities.
- The ability to proactively anticipate issues and respond with creative and appropriate solutions.
- Strong problem solving skills, critical analysis and strategic/conceptual thinking.
- An ability to lead strategic initiatives, be an effective change agent, and achieve positive results.
- Knowledge and understanding of facility management, long-range strategic and business continuity planning, government accountability processes and risk management.
- A proven ability to effectively manage fiscal, human resources, information and technology resources, including reallocating resources to address gaps as required.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively and collaborate strategically with a wide variety of senior leaders, stakeholders and clients.
- Significant experience in developing and operationalizing strategic plans.
