Description

  • Develops, implements, reviews, audits, promotes, and revises the Process Safety & Risk Management program.
  • Supervises the Process Safety Management department, which includes training, planning and assigning work.
  • Develops and executes the group expense budget.
  • Schedules HAZOPs and ensures that they are conducted efficiently.
  • Provides leadership and guidance for PSM and RMP program elements to ensure compliance with the 14 major elements of PSM and consistency throughout the refinery.
  • Develops and conducts employee training sessions on PSM & RMP.
  • Tracks HAZOP, Audit and Incident recommendations and assists with their completion.
  • Interfaces with the regulatory agencies for inspections regarding PSM & RMP.
  • Develops and conducts audits to assure compliance with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP rules.
  • Maintains current PSM manual and RMP Hazard Assessments (Worst Case Scenario & Alternative Case Scenario).


This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or higher-level degree in Engineering or related technical discipline required.
  • Bachelor's or higher-level degree in Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • 8 years of experience in a refinery environment required.
  • 5 years of active participation in progressive professional development in the technical aspects of process safety management required.
  • Able and willing to work on-site, in person at the Valero McKee Refinery required.
