A prestigious law firm is seeking a skilled Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to join its team. This position offers an opportunity to manage a diverse caseload, including class action and single-plaintiff cases involving employment law issues. The ideal candidate will have expertise in litigation, legal drafting, and employment law advice. The role will involve handling complex matters related to wage and hour disputes, discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and other workplace-related claims.
Responsibilities:
- Manage litigation related to employment law issues, such as wage disputes, misclassification, harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination, and breach of contract.
- Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on a variety of employment matters, including restrictive covenants, employee mobility, compensation practices, employee policies/training, and leave of absence/accommodations (FMLA, ADA).
- Draft, negotiate, and review employment agreements, including termination and severance agreements.
- Provide support for corporate transactions with a focus on employment-related due diligence and compliance.
- Represent clients in state and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address clients' legal needs and ensure positive outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Bar Admission: Licensed to practice law in Texas.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in labor and employment law, including litigation and advisory work.
- In-depth knowledge of state and federal employment laws, including wage and hour laws, discrimination statutes, and practices before courts and administrative agencies.
- Experience defending class and collective actions is highly preferred.
- Experience advising clients on employment law matters related to corporate transactions is beneficial.
- Prior experience at an AmLaw 100 law firm is highly preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Hybrid work model: Regular in-office presence with some flexibility for remote work.
- The role requires primarily sedentary work, including extended periods of sitting, typing, and working at a computer.
- Light physical activity may be necessary on occasion (e.g., lifting up to 10 pounds).
- The ability to participate in digital or virtual meetings and in-person meetings is required.
