Job Description:
- Participate in a supportive care agency focused on implementing core values and providing assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Assess and evaluate nursing and medical needs of institutionalized patients, initiate and direct implementation of nursing care plans.
- Observe, evaluate, and record patient behavior, condition, and response to medication, treatments, and therapeutic activities.
- Coordinate clinical and medical appointments, and provide professional nursing care, including administering medications and treatments as ordered by a physician.
- Assist with physical examinations, take and record vital signs, and assist in feeding and grooming patients as needed.
- Responsible for patient and family teaching, and respond to emergencies.
- Direct the delivery of psychiatric and nursing care to patients as delivered by lower-level professional and nonprofessional staff.
- Monitor medication administration, documentation, patient care, and operation of medical equipment.
- Assist in orienting and training new nursing services employees.
- Prepare and review records and reports, update nursing care plans, transcribe and verify doctors' orders, write and review treatment plans, and write nursing summaries.
- Serve as an interdisciplinary treatment team member, attend seminars, meetings, conferences, and participate in in-service training sessions/programs.
- Operate medical equipment and demonstrate physical fitness.
