Technical Sales Engineer

Pay range: $88-120k DOE

Our Dilution Refrigerator Sales team is expanding, and we are now looking for a self-driven and technically savvy Technical Sales Engineer to join our growing sales team. The Technical Sales Engineer position involves in-depth learning of the company system functionality providing excellent customer service. You would be handling the whole sales chain and interacting with different stakeholders. Even though this work is independent, you would have the full support of our Sales team. To succeed in this role, you will have a minimum MSc-level degree in applied or technical physics and excellent presentation skills. We need a person who has the desire and ability to handle challenging tasks independently, with a hands-on and positive attitude. Of course, you also have a genuine interest in physics and technology and are curious to learn more. Our office is in Brooklyn, NY, but we also offer the flexibility of remote work for this position. Candidates that reside in the following states will be considered: California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee. Please note that occasional in-person meetings or events may be required.

Your main responsibilities would be
  • Understand customer requirements and propose technical solutions that align with their needs
  • Articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring clear understanding and value proposition
  • Conducting product demonstrations, technical presentations, and addressing customer inquiries
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their pain points and offering our solutions
  • Act as a liaison between the sales and engineering departments, providing feedback and insights to improve product development
  • Assist in the creation of technical proposals, documentation, and reports for clients
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market changes, and competitors' offerings to provide insightful input and maintain a competitive edge


What we expect from you
  • Minimum MSc level degree in applied or technical physics, or strong experience from a relative field
  • Proven experience in a technical sales or sales engineering role preferably with scientific instrumentation
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey technical information effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically to meet sales targets
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel occasionally

  • Scientific research or R&D background
  • Documented experience in technical sales of scientific instrumentation
  • Knowledge of cryogenic equipment
  • Knowledge of vacuum equipment
  • Positive, hands-on attitude
