Royal Caribbean Group's Corporate Responsibility Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Director, Employee Programs and Volunteering reporting to the AVP, Community Engagement.

This role is based in Miami, Florida.

Position Summary:

The Director of Employee Programs and Volunteering will be responsible for developing and managing global employee programs and volunteer initiatives that align with the company's values, with a focus on being a Force for Greater Good and our corporate SEA the Future framework while executing our Community Engagement goals. This role will oversee our corporate volunteer program from GIVE Days, company-wide volunteer projects, department-level team building volunteering efforts, and individual employee volunteering opportunities and our Executive Board Placement program through the myGIVE volunteer platform. The director will ensure that volunteering programs drive meaningful impact, foster employee engagement, and support the company's broader Community Engagement and Corporate Affairs strategy. Additionally, the director will drive our employee hardship and scholarship programs to support our employee in a time of need.

Key Responsibilities:

Global Employee Volunteering Strategy
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive and holistic global employee volunteering strategy that aligns with the company's values, strengthens our corporate reputation and amplifies our community engagement story.
  • Oversee company-wide volunteer initiatives, ensuring participation across all business units and regions.
  • Partner with leadership to integrate volunteering into the company culture and business strategy. As well as through our Executive Board Placement program.

Volunteer Program Development & Management
  • Design and manage diverse volunteering opportunities, including:
  • Company-wide volunteering projects and (e.g., global days of service, disaster relief efforts).
  • Department and ERG-led volunteering initiatives that support shared goals (e.g., team-based service projects, ERG community engagement opportunities, and nonprofit partnerships).
  • Individual employee volunteering through the myGIVE volunteer platform, providing employees with accessible and flexible volunteer opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with nonprofit organizations to create meaningful volunteer experiences.
  • Develop policies and guidelines for employee participation in volunteer programs.

Employee Hardship and Scholarship Programs
  • Expand the employee hardship fund in collaboration with our new third party community foundation partner to provide financial relief for employees facing disasters, personal crises, or medical hardships.
  • Develop a framework for addressing employee hardships, prioritizing support for highly affected regions and global offices.
  • Work closely with HR Business Partners (HRBP) and data analytics teams to validate employee hardship cases.
  • Manage the Fain Scholarship Program, working with our third-party community foundation to provide education funding for employees or their families.
  • Partner with HR, PR, Communications, and Government Relations to share impact stories and provide updates to key stakeholders.

SEA the Future Community Engagement Strategy
  • Lead and expand volunteering programs that enhance the SEA the Future framework, ensuring it aligns with corporate goals and enhances community impact.
  • Collaborate with external partners, NGOs, and stakeholders to drive meaningful engagement initiatives that align with the goals of our partners and the local community.
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of SEA the Future programs and their contribution to broader CSR objectives.

Internal Communications & Leadership Collaboration
  • Serve as the primary advocate for employee volunteering within the organization.
  • Develop communication strategies to promote volunteer opportunities and employee hardship program, including the myGIVE volunteer platform, and highlight success stories.
  • Work with business leaders to encourage participation and recognize employees for their volunteer contributions.
  • Strong collaboration skills with teams across the company to inspire and engage employees in meaningful volunteer work.

Impact Measurement & Reporting
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the impact of volunteering programs.
  • Regularly assess program effectiveness and employee participation.
  • Prepare reports for senior leadership and external stakeholders on program outcomes and social impact.


Qualifications and Education:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Community Development, Nonprofit Management, Business, Hospitality, Corporate and Community Engagement, Project and/or Events Management or a related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in corporate volunteering, CSR, nonprofit partnerships management and/or employee experience with leadership experience. Proven ability to develop and scale a global program for volunteering or HR
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions to challenges with our employee volunteer, hardship fund and scholarship programs.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrated cultural competency and experience working in diverse communities around the globe.
  • Team Collaboration: Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Public Speaking: Confidence and experience in public speaking and representing the organization at various forums.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data and feedback from the community to inform and adjust strategies and programs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate community engagement efforts and implement improvements based on feedback and outcomes.
  • Financial Responsibilities: Develop employee and volunteering programs budget annually.
  • Software Requirements: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Grants Connect and/or related writing, presentation and charitable giving software.
  • Other Responsibilities: Partner with legal and leadership in reviewing and executing contracts, processing Apex vendor set-up and draft donation agreements for all transactions for review and implementation by Legal.
  • Travel: Travel will be required to attend employee volunteering program and events.
