Description:

LPL is currently hiring a Senior Vice President (SVP), Security Engineering & Architecture. The SVP is a key leadership role responsible for defining, developing, and executing the company's global security architecture and engineering strategy. This individual will lead a high-performing team of security engineers and architects to design, implement, operate, and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure enterprise-wide security solutions.

A critical responsibility of this role is the maintenance and operationalization of all security tools, ensuring that security technologies are not only implemented effectively but also function optimally in day-to-day operations. The SVP will work closely with security operations, IT, and engineering teams to ensure continuous availability, configuration tuning, performance optimization, and lifecycle management of security solutions.

This role requires a deep technical understanding of security infrastructure, cloud security, and automation, as well as strong leadership capabilities to drive security innovation at scale.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Security Architecture
  • Develop and drive the overall security engineering and architecture strategy, aligning with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Define and maintain a security reference architecture and technology roadmap that enables secure digital transformation.
  • Provide technical leadership on security best practices, secure design patterns, and emerging security technologies.
  • Ensure security is integrated into enterprise architecture, cloud environments, and application development lifecycle (DevSecOps).


Security Engineering, Tool Maintenance & Operationalization
  • Maintenance & Optimization: Ensure that all security tools are properly configured, regularly updated, and running at peak performance.
  • Operationalization: Develop and enforce standard operating procedures for security tool deployment, use, and management to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Automation & Integration: Lead initiatives to automate security tool management, integrating security solutions into workflows and CI/CD pipelines for real-time protection.
  • Incident Readiness: Work closely with the Security Operations Center (SOC) and Incident Response teams to ensure that security tools provide real-time threat detection and response capabilities.
  • Lifecycle Management: Ensure all security technologies are continuously evaluated for relevance, upgraded when needed, and replaced when obsolete.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with security technology vendors, ensuring service-level agreements (SLAs) are met and tools align with business needs.


Leadership & Collaboration
  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of security engineers, architects, and technical leaders.
  • Act as a trusted security advisor to Technology leadership and business leaders.
  • Drive a culture of security awareness and secure-by-design principles across the organization.
  • Represent the company in industry security forums and partnerships.


Requirements:
  • 15+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 10+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven expertise in security architecture, cloud security, and security engineering at an enterprise level.
  • Strong knowledge of modern security technologies, such SIEM, EDR, XDR, firewalls, IAM, encryption, and zero trust architecture.
  • Experience with cloud security tools and best practices in hybrid cloud environments.
  • Deep understanding of DevSecOps, secure coding, and software security principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP or CISM preferred.


Pay Range:
$206,475-$344,125/year
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
