The Dealership Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the accounting functions for our growing automotive group. This role involves managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring financial integrity, and driving compliance with company policies and regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting experience, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation: $90,000-$120,000/year

Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
  • Coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial information is accurately reported.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts on a regular basis.
  • Management of fixed assets and tangible personal property reporting.
  • Prepare and submit tax filings and other regulatory reports, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, including inventory management, sales, and other business activities.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance their professional development.
  • Review and improve accounting policies and procedures to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis, providing insights to senior management.
  • Stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices.

Communication and leadership:
  • Facilitate effective communication between departments to ensure the smooth flow of financial information.
  • Lead, motivate, and support financial teams in achieving their objectives.
  • Conduct daily huddles with team members to review progress, address issues, and promote team development.
  • Provide conflict resolutions and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe working environment for team members.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience with accounting software and proficiency in Excel, including Vlookups, Sumifs, Pivot Tables
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
