Summary

Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Radiologic Technician to join our healthcare team. This position is benefit eligible working full-time 32 hours per week Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiology, leadership experience, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.   • Day shift schedules are Monday through Friday. There are occasional voluntary four (4) hour shifts on Saturday mornings from 8 am - 12 pm for several primary clinics (Family Medicine and Pediatrics).
  • Experience working in both primary care and specialty care clinics.

Job Duties:

  • Acts as theRadiation Safety Officer and keeps up on all requirements of being a RadiationSafety Officer.
  • Trouble shoots I.T. relatedissues with the BMC I.T. team or CIA.
  • Assists the Site-Managerin selecting prn radiology staff; provides input into the final decision.
  • Assists inorientation and training of the radiology staff and orients new BMC employeesto Radiology Department.
  • Provides anyapplicable input/feedback for performance appraisals of radiology staff whenneeded.
  • Assists the SiteManager in planning, development and implementation of Radiology policy andprocedures.
  • Is present forand actively involved in yearly inspections including the preparation for theinspection.
  • Assists inoverseeing physical maintenance of the Radiology department includingequipment.
  • Stays currentwith the BMC radiology protocols and works well with providers to meet specificx-ray requests.
  • Stays currentwith radiation safety and quality assurance best practices and BMC protocols.
  • Ensuresappropriate orders are in EMR and gets clarification when necessary beforeperforming the x-ray.
  • Ensuresappropriate positioning and explains the process to patient to reducerepeat/reject exposures.
  • Appropriatelydocuments all repeat/reject reasoning for tracking purposes.
  • Responsible forkeeping current on the use of the computer systems used in the BMC Radiologydepartment.
  • Performs theduties as a BMC Radiology Technologist.
  • Maintainseffective working relationships within the Radiology department and with otherBMC departments to ensure on-going communication.
  • Responsible forQuality Control of Radiographic Technique, maintaining a consistent standard ofproduction through instruction, surveillance, and communication ofequipment. Consistently checks eachmorning that QC tests have been run on the appropriate x-ray system(s) andprocessors.
  • Assists inmaintaining adequate stock of supplies by coordinating with the BMC purchasingdepartment and the departmental site-manager.
  • Appropriatelycharges for all x-ray exams in the EMR system.


Experience and Skills
  • Good judgement on supply needs/stocking. Equipment maintenance needs.
  • Good Radiographic skills.
  • Good understanding of ICD-9 coding and billing procedures.

Education:
  • Graduate of Accredited School of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Previous Experience:
  • 3+ years Radiology Technologist experience
  • Experience in Orthopedics and/or Pediatrics
  • Equipment Maintenance
  • Ordering and maintaining supplies

The starting hourly pay range for this position is commensurate with experience:
  • $36.85 - $47.90/hour

This position will be posted for a minimum of three days, subsequently until filled.
