We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Leader (Director) to lead and evolve our Software Quality Assurance function. This role is ideal for a quality-focused, data-driven leader who understands both manual and automated testing at scale. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in QA processes, defect prevention strategies, and test automation best practices to drive a high-quality software development lifecycle.

What that means day-to-day:

Quality Strategy & Leadership:
  • Define and drive a QA vision and strategy that ensures the highest software quality standards across diverse teams and global business units.
  • Lead manual and automated testing efforts with a focus on defect prevention and early detection in the SDLC.
  • Establish and implement best practices for test planning, execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
  • Foster a culture of quality ownership across engineering, product, and business teams.

Test Processes, Tools & Automation:
  • Develop and oversee comprehensive test plans, ensuring alignment with product development cycles.
  • Utilize tools like Zephyr, Jira, Selenium, Cypress, TestRail, and other industry-leading test management solutions.
  • Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks to improve regression coverage, speed, and accuracy.
  • Drive continuous integration and continuous testing strategies within CI/CD pipelines.

Defect Tracking, KPIs & Reporting:
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure quality trends and effectiveness of QA processes.
  • Create real-time dashboards and reports on test coverage, defect density, release readiness, and overall product quality.
  • Work with engineering leadership to analyze root causes of defects and drive initiatives to reduce defect leakage into production.

Cross-Team Collaboration & Global QA Alignment:
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product management, DevOps, and business leaders to align quality goals with business objectives.
  • Unify and standardize QA processes across multiple countries and business units to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Advocate for and implement best practices in agile testing methodologies, risk-based testing, and exploratory testing.
  • Mentor and develop QA team members, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.

What you'll need to be successful:

Experience & Expertise:
  • 10+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (QA Manager, QA Director, or equivalent).
  • Proven track record of leading QA teams at major software companies.
  • Expertise in test automation frameworks, including scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript).
  • Strong hands-on experience with test management tools (Zephyr, Jira, TestRail, etc.) and automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Appium, Playwright, etc.).
  • Experience in cloud-based testing, microservices testing, and API testing frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps testing strategies, and performance testing tools.

Leadership & Vision:
  • Ability to define and execute a long-term quality strategy, balancing automation, manual testing, and defect prevention.
  • Experience managing QA teams across different geographies, driving alignment in tools, processes, and quality standards.
  • Strong ability to influence cross-functional teams, advocate for quality, and drive improvements across the SDLC.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze quality trends, generate insights, and drive measurable improvements.
