JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Payroll Tax Analyst role is responsible for completing the daily workflow as a seasoned expert in the
Payroll Tax department providing timely an accurate support of multi-state payroll tax related activities. This
role also looks for efficiencies in maintain compliance and implementing best practices. Additionally, the role
serves as the Subject Matter Expert in their respective domain in the Payroll Tax Org.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Subject Matter Expert in Payroll Tax Compliance, Reporting, and/or Payments. As well as in Payroll
and Payroll Tax policies and procedures
Partners with internal colleagues and workflow leads to resolve escalated customer inquiries
Resolves high complex tasks related to different areas in Payroll Tax
First Point of Contact for all escalations origination from customer inquiries and internal
colleagues
Conducts research on all Payroll Tax queries and presents findings to management, including risk
mitigation and process improvement recommendation
Serves as a peer mentor and trainer
Knowledge Management Reviewer for submissions and maintenance of Payroll and Payroll Tax
knowledge management articles and process guides
Participates in organizational projects as needed
For Operations Senior Payroll Tax Analyst Role Only - Operations: Identifies and resolves bulk
filing / payment issues with Jurisdictions. Cross Collaborates with other TriNet departments such
as Engineering, Development, Treasury etc

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred
General education, vocational training and/or on the-job training required
Work Experience
Licenses and Certifications
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)-APA CPP - preferred
Fundamental Payroll Certification preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
KSAs Proficiency
Advanced skills in tax agency correspondence
Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, quality work product
Demonstrates proactive problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to handle detailed wage and tax transactions, prioritize tasks and projects to meet deadlines
and improve efficiency
Abilty to mentor others in organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage a
high-volume workflow and improve efficiency
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Full indepth understanding of the US payroll tax including federal, state, and local laws and
regulations
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
High commitment to professional ethical standards in a diverse workplace
Indepth knowledge of web-based payroll software
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Work Environment:
If Remote work location. Candidate must have an appropriate home office and internet connection is required.
Overtime may be required as projects dictate primarily during reporting months. Use of headset to communicate
is required. Noise level in the environment is usually moderate. The work environment characteristics described
