Compensation: $65.00-$85.77 per hour, plus $1.75 per hour Shift Differential Premium for hours worked between 6pm-6am
Schedule: Monday-Friday 10:00am-7:00pm

Probation: 90 Days

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: As the nation's largest and most experienced provider of LGBT medical and mental health services, we help LGBTQ people lead healthier, happier lives, by keeping their minds and body well. All services are free or low cost. We're also one of the few Federally Qualified Health Centers in the nation with providers who specialize in primary care for LGBTQ people and with a research team working to advance the care and treatment of people in our community.
JOB SUMMARY: Perform professional and clinical duties in the dispensing of medications to patients and clinic.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Prepare, fill, and verify prescriptions as ordered by physicians and other authorized personnel as indicated by California Law.
Store and preserve medications and vaccines as appropriate.
Check incoming shipments of pharmacy supplies and medications and arrange for their storage.
Charge 3rd party payer for dispensed medications.
Remove outdated drugs from the pharmacy and clinic stocks.
Distribute clinic stock supplies of medications.
Oversee and coordinate the work of pharmacy technicians in basic pharmacy operations as well as other duties as outlined in the job functions of pharmacy technicians and as allowed by California Law.
Oversee and coordinate the work of pharmacy clerks in the duties as outlined in the job functions of pharmacy clerks and as allowed by California Law.
Participate in in-service training (includes both presentation of in-services and attendance at the presentation of others providing in-services).
Provide drug information to clinic personnel and medical staff.
Participate in staff meetings, planning meetings, and other meetings as needed.
Perform other duties as needed and as directed by Pharmacist Manager or the Director of Pharmacy.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of or experience working with the LGBTQ community and familiarity with issues of particular relevance to LGBTQ people.
A passion for the Center's work and its mission to make the world a better place for LGBTQ people.
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
Current licensure (unrestricted) to practice pharmacy in the State of California.
Credentialing as an HIV Pharmacist through the American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM) is required within 1 year of hire.
A minimum of one year of previous retail or ambulatory clinic pharmacy experience.
Background and knowledge of HIV/AIDS and their drugs and pharmacology.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Bilingual skills, a plus (English/Spanish fluency preferred).
Good computer skills, particularly in word processing, database operations, spreadsheets, and other software systems.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse races, ethnicities, nationalities, sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expression, socio-economic backgrounds, religions, ages, English-speaking abilities, immigration status, and physical abilities in a multicultural environment.
