Job Description
Job Title: Physician
Job Specialty: Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine
Job Duration: 26 weeks, with potential for extension
Shift: Day shift, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, flexible based on facility needs
Guaranteed Hours: Full-time
Experience: Primary care or hospital medicine experience required
License: Certificate to practice medicine issued by the State Medical Board
Certifications: Board-eligible or board-certified
Must-Have:
- Experience working in primary care or hospital settings
- Ability to provide care to specialized populations, including those with dementia or developmental disabilities
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with nurse practitioners, social workers, psychiatrists, and psychologists
Job Description:
- Perform routine and emergency medical care for patients in state facilities, including examinations, diagnoses, treatment, monitoring progress, vaccinations, and minor surgery.
- Conduct routine physical examinations to assess medical conditions for claims or employment suitability.
- Participate in professional meetings, work conferences, and interdisciplinary team meetings to contribute to total quality care plans for patients.
- Consult with other physicians to determine the need for specialized care or treatment and act as a consultant to other professionals.
- Write medical evaluations, admission, discharge, and death summaries; interpret and analyze laboratory reports; maintain written accounts of patient progress; and provide instructions to nursing and support staff.
- Keep up with continuing education requirements and ensure compliance with licensing regulations.
- Provide care on-site without the requirement for on-call coverage, nights, or weekends.
