    We are currently looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer Contractor, with electrical product development experience for medical devices, to join our Neuromodulation Engineering Team in Rice Creek, Minnesota.     As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will work with a team of Engineers and Technicians to develop and bring new products to the market. The focus of this role will be to conduct electrical test method development, validate test methods, and conduct verification testing for our next generation patient care instrument platform that will program Neurostimulator systems for Deep Brain Stimulation, Spinal Cord Stimulation, and Sacral Nerve Modulation. Electrical product development for patient care instruments includes knowledge of regulatory and safety Standards that govern instrument product development.

    Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
    • Provide Electrical Engineering skills to Characterize and Verify new product designs including analog, digital, and embedded systems for patient care instruments (patient programmer)
    • Design, execute, and validate test methods to characterize and verify adherence to standards, product and systems requirements
    • Theory and working knowledge of antennas (LF & HF), matching circuitry, radios, and associated electrical connection topologies within patient programmers
    • Work closely with design teams (Electrical, Systems, Firmware and IC Design) to root cause design issues, create test suites, Characterize, and ultimately Verify Electrical designs
    • Analysis of product performance using DFSS techniques
    • Validate test environments comprising custom RF equipment, software, and test methods
    • Develop test methods and interface with certified test houses to verify/certify to global regulatory standards including IEC60601, ISO 14708-3, FCC, ETSI, etc.
    • Work under minimal supervision
    • Ensure understanding of all quality policy/system items that are personally applicable. Follow all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high-quality work.
    • Ability to work with others internationally and travel globally
    Must Have: Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline
    • Minimum of 4 years relevant engineering experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
    Nice to Have
    • BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering
    • Medical Device experience
    • Experience in Electrical Design and Development for Patient Care Instruments
    • Experience in Hardware integration of RF subsystems
    • Experience designing analog and digital circuitry on custom PCBs
    • Experience with verification and validation of class II and class III medical devices
    • Experience developing automated test benches
    • Experience validating test scripts, methods and systems
