WORK SCHEDULE
100% FTE - 40 hours per week
Day Shift - UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 07:00 - 16:00 (PST), Monday-Friday
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Designing, developing, and deploying scalable software automations using Generative AI (GenAI), Power Apps, and Robotics Process Automation (RPA) and other automation technologies
Providing advanced level design, development, and testing of full-stack applications using automation technologies
Responsible for the entire lifecycle of software/application and automations
Business process analysis, requirement gathering, technical specification/design, programming, testing, and production installation/configuration
System support, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of complex applications, infrastructure, vendor-packaged systems, and technical solutions for UW Medicine internal and external customers across many different functional areas
Evaluating and making recommendations concerning the third-party products
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code
Participating in code reviews and contributing to the improvement of the codebase
Troubleshooting and debugging advanced level issues in development, testing, and production environments
Deploying serverless code to cloud services
Staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in regard to GenAI and automation
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience
5+ years of experience which should include:
5+ years systems analysis experience, including requirements gathering, functional design, and technical design
5+ years of recent software development experience with a focus on automation and workflow improvement
5+ years hands-on experience with a combination of the following:
o Visual Basics.NET
o C/C++
o Python
o Java
o MATLAB
o C#.NET
3+ years of experience with RPA
2+ years of professional IT architecture experience or equivalent
2+ years of experience with ServiceNow or equivalent
2+ years of experience implementing automations with GenAI tools such as:
o Document Understanding/Intelligent Document Processing
o Communication Mining
o Large Language Models
o Summarization
o Translation
1+ years of experience with UiPath
Strong, applied experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum a plus)
Strong knowledge of all phases of software development or lifecycle for vendor supplied and non-vendor software
Familiarity with operations of Unix and Windows operating system
Working knowledge of modern internet browser technology, features, and functionality
Proven experience with unit and systems testing
Proficiency with PC based productivity tools, including Microsoft Office
Demonstrated ability to produce documentation for:
o Functional Requirements
o Technical Requirements
o System test plans
o Operational System documentation
o User Guides / documentation
Knowledge of database structures, data definitions and data relationships
Demonstrated ability to manage small to medium-sized IT projects and/or process improvement initiatives
Demonstrated ability to work with and facilitate multidisciplinary work groups in an application development or support setting
