Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in complex litigation involving Child Victims Act cases, including pre-suit negotiations, discovery, motions, and trials.
- Defend clients against allegations of child sexual abuse, with a focus on CVA cases.
- Handle all stages of litigation, including research, legal writing, case management, depositions, and court appearances.
- Develop and execute litigation strategies, collaborating closely with senior attorneys and clients.
- Prepare legal briefs, motions, and other necessary documents for hearings and trials.
- Manage case load efficiently, ensuring timely and accurate updates to clients and senior attorneys.
- Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) proceedings when appropriate.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of state laws, regulations, and legal precedents, particularly those pertaining to the Child Victims Act.
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience as a litigation attorney, with a focus on defending Child Victims Act cases.
- Demonstrated experience managing and defending cases involving child sexual abuse claims.
- Strong background in New York and/or New Jersey civil procedure, specifically related to CVA.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, experts, and team members.
- Member of the New York or New Jersey State Bar.
- Experience with complex litigation matters and handling high-profile cases preferred.
