We are seeking an exceptional Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to lead the analytics and data strategy for Amazon's worldwide New Selection Success vertical. This high-visibility role will be instrumental in building the analytical foundation that drives data-informed decisions about new product success across Amazon's global marketplaces. You will partner closely with business, product, and engineering teams to develop sophisticated analytical solutions that unlock insights about new selection performance and brand success.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical rigor and has experience building scalable data solutions that deliver significant business impact. You should be comfortable working with large datasets, thrive in high-visibility roles, excel at solving complex analytical problems, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. You must combine technical expertise with business acumen and strong execution capabilities, while demonstrating an ability to influence through data-driven insights. This role offers high ownership, Amazon-wide impact, extensive senior leadership exposure, diverse responsibilities and tremendous growth potential.

Key job responsibilities

(1) Owning the end-to-end data strategy and analytics execution for new selection success metrics globally

(2) Building and maintaining scalable data models and pipelines for critical business metrics

(3) Developing automated, self-service analytical tools and dashboards for business stakeholders

(4) Leading deep-dive analyses to identify opportunities in new selection performance

(5) Partnering with cross-functional teams to define and implement new datasets

(6) Creating measurement frameworks for new initiatives and experiments

(7) Mentoring team members and establishing analytical best practices

(8) Synthesizing complex analyses into actionable insights for executive leadership

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of SQL experience

- Experience building measures and metrics, and developing reporting solutions

- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results

- Master's degree in statistics, data science, or an equivalent quantitative field

- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

- Track record of building automated, scalable analytical solutions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
