GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The Project Engineer is accountable for technical coordination and support of a project, including
ensuring that project cost, schedule and scope control principles and analysis are applied to assist the
Project Manager in ensuring successful execution of project deliverables in accordance with Customer
requirements. Acts as the primary technical point of contact for the customer and as liaison between the
Project Manager and the project technical team members. Performs work in accordance with the RCMT
Quality Assurance Program while seeking improvements to work processes and design approaches.
Coordinates development of innovative technical solutions to complex problems
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals, RFP's and plans, conferring with
management.
Oversees project teams understanding of the scope of work, specifications, and deliverables on
assigned projects.
Works with Engineering Manager or Engineering Supervisor to assure the Project Team members
have the skills and experience to support the project objectives
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Develops project execution plan, determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and
elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements; oversight of sub-contractors.
Provides project direction, oversight and leadership to assure the execution of the plan provides a
quality product meeting the Client's requirements in an efficient manner.
With support of project discipline engineers, determines project requirements and criteria by studying
design requirements, customer requirements, and performance standards.
Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time
requirements, sequencing project elements.
Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, resolving problems.
Controls project plan by reviewing and controlling changes to the design, specifications and schedule,
and recommending courses of action to mitigate impact.
Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Controls project costs by approving expenditures, administering contractor contracts. Prepares project
status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, recommending
actions.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
Assures compliance with federal and state regulations.
