JOB SUMMARY: Candidate will provide cargo systems engineering expertise to a variety of existing and developing projects worldwide. Resource, lead, and collaborate with existing and developing projects in meeting the health, safety, security, environmental, operational, technical, and commercial objectives. Assist with technical support throughout the operational life of FSRU/LNGC vessels, obsolescence replacement, drydocks, upgrades, and projects. Directly support upcoming projects for Newbuilds, Conversions, Terminals, and relocation of assets. As a Project Engineer - Cargo and Process Systems , you will be responsible for the ship design and construction engineering of cargo systems, gas systems, regasification systems, cargo auxiliary systems, cargo mechanical/piping and associated instrumentation & controls to improve the project reliability, availability, maintainability, safety, and survivability, including preventive and corrective actions of cargo systems of the FSRU, LNGC, or shore infrastructure.

- Ensure HSSEQ is addressed in all aspects of work planning and execution.
- Preparation of process and cargo engineering documents/drawings to support project development and execution.
- Modelling and simulation of conceptual and existing cargo and regasification systems.
- Provide technical support for existing ship operations, as required.
- Optimization and modification of existing cargo, LNG, gas, and regasification equipment.
- Support safety, security, environmental, quality, and operability reviews (e.g., Readiness Reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, FMECA, SIL Rating, Risk Assessment, RAM, etc.)
- Provide Project and Terminal support for design, engineering, FSRU to shore process interface management, commissioning, start-up, operation, troubleshooting, and shutdown of facilities.
- Preparation of functional diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, arrangement diagrams, valve list, material take-offs, and other components calculations, basis of design, functional descriptions, and technical documents, as required.
- Sizing and specification of cargo, LNG, LP gas, and HP gas main and auxiliary equipment both for cryogenic and non-cryogenic processes onboard or ashore.
- Develop detailed heat balance calculations for cargo systems, open & closed loop heating systems, as well as steam and diesel electric plants.
- Develop, supervise, and coordinate basic, and detailed process & cargo engineering and define equipment required to fulfill the project systems objectives in accordance with the design criteria as defined for the project, and in compliance with company policies, standards, and best practices.
- Prepare, review, approve, and manage project work packs within the required time frame with clear and concise description of the work along with accurate technical details, clearly defined material, and specific class and certificate level requirements.
- Prepare and review vendor requests for quotes with complete work scope details including required delivery date, specific vendor documentation, certification, and class requirements.
- Prepare purchase order specifications purchase justification, documentation, and class requirements.
- Review, approve, manage, and supervise vendors, contractors including shipyard design, drawings, specifications, and documentation. Including vendor's contractual technical and commercial commitments.
- Ability for international travel to shipyards in order to attend and actively participate in newbuild projects, conversions, drydocking, and repairs on a case by case basis.
- Monitor and manage the financial status of assigned work scopes and submit meaningful and reasonably accurate forecasts to complete.
- Ensure the work scope is completed fit for purpose and value added to Excelerate Energy in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure all operations, engineering, and quality control processes are followed, including Management of Change, and document control in order to document changes.
- Interface and direct contact inside and outside the engineering team with areas such as operations, marine assurance, safety team, business development, supply chain, quality team, document control, among others.

Requirements
- Recognized Bachelors' or Masters' degree Process or Industrial or Chemical Engineering degree (or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of project engineering experience in offshore oil and energy industry on large land-based or floating LNG/Natural gas design, construction, and operations projects.
- Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and gas/LNG composition and its associated physical and chemical properties.
- Broad and in-depth knowledge of process engineering, LNG/Gas systems, regasification, LNG cargo, gas systems, and cargo containment systems to ensure functionality and high operability of cargo system designs for membrane ships.
- In-depth understanding of the control philosophy, process shutdown, and emergency shut down of gas management systems, cargo handling systems, custody transfer, ship to ship operations, regasification systems, floating liquefaction, reliquefaction systems, sub-cooling systems, Minimum Sendout Compressors, Gas burning engines and boilers, and Gas Combustion units.
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards for vessel design including Classification Rules, Flag State, Regulatory requirements, plan approval workflows, best practices, and guidelines.
- The ability to conduct Project Management, adapt to changing circumstances, and willingness to lead and manage activities outside of core expertise.
- Capacity to lead, manage and support other Project Engineers.
- Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English as well as full computer proficiency.
- Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve best efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ability to be creative, influence others in a positive manner and resolve conflicts.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Working in teams and individual basis.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Visio is desirable).
- Proficiency with process simulation software.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in AFT Fathom and Arrow is desirable, but not required.
- Proficiency in MS Project is desirable, but not required.
- Professional Engineer is desirable, but not required.
- PMP Certification is desirable, but not required.
