Dynamic Motion Control (Chicago, IL) seeks a Senior Project Engineer to provide expert level competency at isolating system problems and directing teams to solve them for all DMC customers. Specific duties include: develop automated test systems using LabVIEW and text-based languages such as Python, C#, C++, and Java (25%); Collaborate with varying project teams of difference sizes and experience levels (10%); Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers and stakeholders while collaborating and responding to requests (15%); Travel to customer and partner sites for commissioning solutions, including troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems (10%); Seek, identify, and discuss new opportunities with new and existing clients and write up agreed upon project proposals (20%); Work as a technical expert in the department and be open to advise and teach less experienced employees (5%); and participate in regular tech review groups that focus on both internal and external process improvements to customer work (15%). Position requires LabVIEW Developer or Architect certification. Must have at least 3.4 GPA at time of degree completion. Must take and pass pre-hire DMC coding test. Travel required within the U.S to client sites 30% of the time. Option to work remotely within the U.S. with required to travel to our company's local office 40% of the time.

Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field of study from the top 50 engineering schools within the U.S. based on the U.S. News & World Report, plus 6 years of experience in the job offered, or as a System Engineer, Test System Engineer, LabView Engineer or similar position isolating system problems and directing teams to solve them. In the alternative, will accept a Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field of study from the top 50 engineering schools within the U.S. based on the U.S. News & World Report, plus 3 years of experience in the job offered, or as a System Engineer, Test System Engineer, LabView Engineer or similar position isolating system problems and directing teams to solve them. Must have 3 years of experience working with each of the following: National Instruments (NI) CompactDAQ; CompactRIO; PXI coding; TestStand; VeriStand; and MATLAB programming. Specific experience must also include: designing and implementing LabVIEW projects; working with project-based development and customer service; working with current test and measurement data acquisition hardware and devices; specifying correct hardware based on system requirements; working with project planning/system architecture design; implementing and designing test stand programs in LabVIEW to ensure viability of end system; debugging and system testing; designing systems based upon previously used system; and presenting final data and end results to clients to ensure project completion. Must be certified LabVIEW Developer or Architect. Must have at least 3.4 GPA at time of degree completion. Must take and pass pre-hire DMC coding test. Travel required within the U.S to client sites 30% of the time. Option to work remotely within the U.S. with required to travel to our company's local office 40% of the time. Salary: $150,862/yr.
