Job Description
The Director, NICU under the direction of the Administrative Director of Nursing, is responsible for the management, supervision, and evaluation of patient care with the goal of providing compassionate, coordinated, family-centered care for all patients. The Director, NICU will direct all clinical area personnel to provide safe, high-quality care, using evidence-based practice on a 24-hour basis. The Director, NICU monitors patient outcomes and process measures, develops, implements and evaluates actions for continuous care improvement in the designated clinical area. Responsible for supervision of the Hospital as assigned by the Administrative Director of Nursing.

Calculates risks associated with an anticipated action. Ability to facilitate transitions through sound process improvement methodologies. Ability to negotiate and resolve conflict. Willingness to embrace change and manage it effectively. Ability to foster and implement team-building strategies. Skill in the use of computer systems and related software applications. Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Work Experience:
- Two years clinical nursing experience required.
License/Registration/Certification:
- Current Registered Nurse License issued by the State of Texas or a Multistate License
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- NRP obtained within 6 months of hire
- STABLE obtained within 6 months of hire
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree, Nursing (BSN) required.
