Description

We're looking for a Technical Writer Lead to oversee documentation efforts for our loyalty products, including software documentation, user guides, release notes, and API documentation. In this role, you'll manage project assignments, support and mentor a team of writers, and serve as the primary point of contact for documentation needs. About 5-10% of your time will be dedicated to career coaching and mentorship, helping your team grow while ensuring high-quality, user-friendly documentation.

What Will You Be Doing?
  • Oversee and approve all product documentation deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain documentation processes, style guides, and content standards.
  • Assign and manage team projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
  • Write, edit, and review technical documentation, including procedures and compliance guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather data and create training materials.
  • Plan and estimate documentation timelines for new product features.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear, actionable workflows.
  • Ensure documentation follows version control and publishing standards.
  • Evaluate industry best practices and recommend new technologies.
  • Lead and mentor the writing team, handling hiring, training, and performance management.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Strong background in technical documentation and communications.
  • Solution-focused mindset with the ability to coach and empower teams through challenges.
  • Preferred degree in Technical Communications.
  • Skilled in multitasking and shifting focus as needed.
  • 5+ years of experience writing and editing documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences; industry experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of structuring documents to meet requirements and desired outcomes.
  • Ability to gather, distill, and organize complex information into clear, concise documentation for multiple audiences.
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing, organization, attention to detail, communication, and customer service.
  • Proven ability to write documentation at an 8th-grade reading level for clarity and accessibility.

A reasonable estimate of the current range is is $74k - $97k salaried.
