The Department of Corrections is recruiting to fill a Health Services Nursing Coordinator (Assistant Director of Nursing) position. This position can be headquartered at any of the locations below.

Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun, WI
Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility in Milwaukee, WI

Position Summary
This position is responsible for the leadership, facilitation, consultation, clinical direction, and oversight of health services provided at assigned facilities in the Department of Corrections (DOC). By functioning as a resource and providing expertise in clinical health, this position facilitates the effective management of patient care and nursing practice at both the Departmental and institution level. This position ensures the effective delivery of health services both within nursing and across health disciplines; utilizes theoretical and evidence-based practices to plan, provide, implement, and evaluate the delivery of safe and efficient patient care; and develops, implements, and evaluates healthcare programs, policies, and procedures.
In addition, this position promotes care in custody, a community standard of health care delivery, and organizational processes to ensure appropriate care delivery and improved nurse and staff competency. This position coaches and develops health services managers and staff in the knowledge and implementation of American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of practice, National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) standards, and key attributes necessary for successful leadership. Additional duties include budget management, team leadership, ensuring compliance, quality improvement, staff and patient education, and nursing orientation.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule and range 50-20 with a starting annual pay of $134,950 to $151,193.
Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
This position is able to telecommute up to 2 days per week.
Anticipated shift: 7:45am-4:30pm

Applicants must have a currentunrestricted Wisconsin licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin or reciprocating state.

- Providing formal staff supervision to nursing staff (e.g. hiring, performance evaluations, discipline, dismissal, settling grievances, etc.)
- Leading staff and/or teams through process improvement
- Consulting with staff from other disciplines to implement patient care plans.
In addition to the above, well qualified applicant will have experience:
- Facilitating the professional growth, development, and education of nursing staff (e.g. mentoring, coaching, training, instructing)
- Developing policies and procedures as it relates to nursing practice (e.g. regulatory compliance, ANA standards of practice, process improvement, care delivery, etc.)
