Description:
Eaton's Corporate Information Technology team is hiring a Product Owner - SAP Source & Make in Beachwood, OH preferably or in Galesburg MI, Houston TX, Menomonee Falls WI, Moon Township PA, Raleigh NC. This position requires 25% travel. Candidates must live within 50 miles of these locations as relocation assistance is not available.
In this Product Owner Role, you will own the SAP modules involved in manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering, which includes Production Planning (PP), Quality Management (QM), and Plant Maintenance (PM). You will champion the product vision, collaborate with senior leaders, develop, and maintain the product roadmap, and define key operational processes to ensure efficient, effective, and seamless order fulfillment for our customers. You will work closely with business partners and customers to align epics with key business objectives for the Scrum or Kanban team. Managing multiple products, you will drive efficiencies through innovative AI technologies, process standardization, solution reusability, automation, and optimal resource use. This product owner will also collaborate with other ERP/Oracle product teams to ensure best in class process implementation.
You will be responsible for managing SAP standards, governance models, best practices, and template designs, along with the strategy and roadmap for SAP capabilities within these modules and beyond. As a leader within Eaton's IT function, you will manage and develop the SAP delivery team to achieve business outcomes.
You will manage product funding, define work priorities, and balance new features with continuous improvement and support. You will work with product teams to execute the roadmap, guide development, define user stories, and represent the customer voice. You will maximize SAP value by managing the product backlog.
In this role, you will handle products foundational to the business, set and communicate the product vision, and maintain the roadmap. You will work with business partners and customers to align epics with objectives, manage funding, define priorities, and balance new features with system health. You will work with architects, engineers, and team members to execute the roadmap and guide development.
What you'll do:
Define and champion the product vision, roadmap, and epics, working with senior leaders to craft strategic business objectives and enterprise-spanning plans to meet customer and business needs pertaining to SAP order fulfillment/manufacturing modules.
Own the product backlog, managing and prioritizing user stories, decomposing epics into features, and continuous improvement work
Manage a team of IT professionals and/or managers, providing appropriate coaching to develop employee skills and continuously improve performance
Develops and maintains product-specific persona and customer journeys
Communicate goals for product increments and releases. Define goals for team sprints.
Support the onboarding of internal and external resources
Accountable for product support, stability, and governance: including data, policy, cybersecurity, and usage
Act as a functional expert in areas related to the product, including across Eaton's portfolio and with other business units
Understand commercial, business and go-to-market strategies where applicable
Support a Secure Product Development Lifecycle approach that establishes a strong cybersecurity focus and culture across the entire engineering lifecycle
Will have a broader level of functional and technical knowledge of SAP deliver capabilities
Develop, communicate, and deploy SAP deliver governance standards and best practices across the support and delivery of SAP deliver capabilities
Drive system architecture, ensure alignment and facilitate solution delivery across SAP delivery related activities
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Minimum of 10 years of experience within SAP across a complex multiple ERP instance architecture
Minimum 7 years of experience as a Product Owner or equivalent position
SAP manufacturing related module (ECC and S4) experience
Prior manager of people experience required
Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree from an accredited institution is preferred
Experience in a best-in-class IT function within a matrixed, multinational company
SAP Production Planning (PP), Quality Management (QM), and Plant Maintenance (PM) module experience
Experience implementing automation and/or AI technologies within SAP
Skills
Exceptional ERP delivery functional knowledge across ECC and S4
Expertise with product management and modern product delivery processes
Strong understanding of and experience working with Agile, Scrum, and/or Kanban software delivery teams
Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles
Strong understanding of modern software development principles including code management, test automation, APIs, microservices, and cloud services.
Experience directly managing and developing professional team members
Executive communication skills
Strong knowledge of and experience working with design thinking methodologies
Expertise with creation and management of product roadmaps
Strong understanding of lean principles with respect to product and portfolio management
Data orientation and ability to make data-driven decisions
Passion for great customer experiences
Financial and budget management
Comfortable working directly with business leaders, external customers, and engineering teams
