The Role


Palantir's Mixed Reality group is a tier 1 team of developers, researchers, product managers, 3D artists, immersive UX designers, and cross-discipline engineers who create the company's next-generation end-user experiences. As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), you will work directly with customers to quickly understand their greatest problems, and design and implement high-impact, mission-critical applications in mixed reality and 2D end-user devices while developing performance apps for next-generation Mixed Reality hardware, sensors, and data platforms.


As an FDE, youll apply your problem solving ability, creativity, and technical skills to help organizations use their data to drive a real impact in the world. You are a resourceful, gritty and adaptable problem solver who is able to work both collaboratively and independently to resolve difficult and nebulous technical issues, as well as work productively with external customers to debug and resolve their problems. Youll have the opportunity to gain rare insight into and contribute to some of the worlds most important industries and institutions.

Core Responsibilities

Architect, develop, debug, document, and deploy performant Mixed Reality applications

Invent and improve novel techniques in immersive user experiences

Develop rapid-prototypes and deployable code in augmented reality, virtual reality, and other immersive 2D and 3D user experiences

Rapidly iterate to adapt solutions to new needs and continuous deployment

Hands-on work with cutting edge Mixed Reality hardware - deploying builds, configuring devices, building and testing new integrations

"Make things work" on the edge, on-prem, and in hybrid-cloud environments

Deploy new Palantir products at customer deployments

Troubleshoot issues at all layers of the system, from physical to application

What We Require

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science OR equivalent job experience.

2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.

Active US Security Clearance, or ability and willingness to obtain one.

Salary


The estimated salary range for this position is estimated to be $135,000 - $200,000/year. Total compensation for this position may also include Restricted Stock units, sign-on bonus and other potential future incentives. Further note that total compensation for this position will be determined by each individuals relevant qualifications, work experience, skills, and other factors. This estimate excludes the value of any potential sign-on bonus; the value of any benefits offered; and the potential future value of any long-term incentives.
