Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. What Youll Do:

  • Ensure corporate Safety Programs comply with evolving OSHA requirements (IIPP Injury and Illness Prevention Program, COVID testing/vaccine requirements, recurring safety training)
  • Serve as Occupational Safety Liaison to Safety Council and all departments to sustain a zero-injury workplace
  • Consolidate behavior-based safety programs, policies, training and work practices into Accident Prevention Manual
  • Coordinate Safety programs within Archer and with outsourced HSE service providers, contractors and consultants as primary contact
  • Ensure compliant handling and management of waste streams: storage/inventory, manifests, disposal and reporting
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for safety programs such as Lock-out / Tag-out
  • Monitor regulatory developments applicable to HSE programs
  • Serve as on-site Agency Liaison for inspections, audit and enforcement
  • Coordinate Facility Permitting (offices, laboratories and manufacturing)

What You Need:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Safety) or related profession with at least 6+ years experience in environmental engineering or health and safety or 10+ years of experience in environmental engineering or health and safety.
  • Previous experience leading safety within a manufacturing organization
  • Experience creating corporate safety culture programs, safety training modules

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience with all facets of Lithium-ion battery storage, testing and use
  • Aviation industry experience
  • Working knowledge of Industrial Hygiene Principles, SARA 311/312/313 reporting, NSR Permitting

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Companys business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between$183,600-216,000.Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
