The community you'll be caring for: 301 Memorial Medical Parkway, Daytona Beach, Florida 32117
The role you'll contribute: The Director of Birth Care Center has direct responsibility of the Birth Care Center units. The Director of Birth Care Center assumes 24-hour accountability for directing all activities related to observation, monitoring, education, orientation and training of personnel in a manner that encourages quality patient care, safe environment, and employee, guest and patient satisfaction.
The value you'll bring to the team:
Responsible and accountable for the planning, organizing, coordination, and organization of management and clinical practice activities on the Birth Care Center. Collaborates with physician chair or consultant to include physician input on strategic and operational decisions.
Responsible to set measurable goals and objectives for optimum quality patient care delivered by staff in a sensitive and caring manner.
Responsible for the planning and preparation of the department annual budget.
Analyzes and interprets monthly budget and variances. Explains, justifies and investigates variances.
Implements effective processes and procedures to address expense/revenue management.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :
Minimum qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent
Registered Nurse - Florida Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure
At least 4 years of management experience in the obstetrical and newborn care settings
Strong presentation skills and interpersonal skills are required. Director of Birth Care Center is expected to be fully productive within nine months to one year after employment.
Contacts with patients, visitors, employees and physicians throughout the hospital are constant and significant, dealing with delicate or controversial issues requiring diplomacy and a high degree of tact. Serves as a role model to employees and physicians for leadership, communication skills and customer service.
