Nitto Avecia is looking for a Senior MES Engineer to join our Engineering Team. This position will fill a high impact, instrumental role in the implementation of our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and will initially be responsible for developing first-of-kind electronic batch records and MES system configurations. The position will continually drive digital transformation and continuous improvement, as well as support PLC/SCADA troubleshooting efforts. You will collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, IT, and quality assurance to enhance production efficiency, data visibility, and compliance.

The position will continually drive digital transformation and continuous improvement, as well as support PLC/SCADA troubleshooting efforts. You will collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, IT, and quality assurance to enhance production efficiency, data visibility, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of MES solutions to support manufacturing operations.
- Work with cross functional teams to define user requirements and ensure successful MES implementation.
- Develop and maintain MES-related operating texts, workflows, system configurations, scripts, and data models.
- Support validation activities within a regulated industry, ensuring compliance with GMP's (e.g. FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP5, ICH Q7).
- Lead digitalization and MES related continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with internal computerized systems validation and life cycle policies.
- Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting MES and PLC/SCADA related issues.
- Support change management initiatives and technical document generation (functional specifications, SOP's, etc.)
Required Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Automation & Controls related field
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in MES, automation engineering, and/or implementing manufacturing solutions.
- Expertise in MES platforms (Siemens Opcenter a plus).
- Strong knowledge of automated systems (PLC/SCADA - Rockwell and Ignition a plus) and ERP Integration (SAP a plus)
- Experience with SQL databases (Oracle, SQL Server), scripting (Python, VB), and industrial communication protocols (OPC, MQTT, Rest API etc.)
- Experience in regulated environments (pharmaceutical, food & beverage, etc.)
- Certification in MES Platforms preferred.
- Experience with Industry 4.0 / Pharma 4.0 technologies preferred.
- Knowledge of IT/OT convergence preferred.
