Job Summary:
The Operations Manager at FABco, LLC is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of branch operations to drive efficiency, profitability, and performance. This includes strategic planning, financial management, operational analysis, fleet and inventory management, customer relations, safety oversight, and leadership development. The Operations Manager provides direct input and feedback on all operational processes and results to the VP of Operations, ensuring alignment with company goals.

Operations Manager

Job Summary:
The Operations Manager at FABco, LLC is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of branch operations to drive efficiency, profitability, and performance. This includes strategic planning, financial management, operational analysis, fleet and inventory management, customer relations, safety oversight, and leadership development. The Operations Manager provides direct input and feedback on all operational processes and results to the VP of Operations, ensuring alignment with company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic & Operational Planning
- Develop and implement strategic and operational plans to enhance branch efficiency and profitability.
- Align operational goals with company objectives and industry best practices.
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics (KPIs) to assess operational success and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to the Director of Rebar Fabrication for continuous improvement.
Financial Management
- Manage operational budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and financial accountability.
- Monitor expenses, cost controls, and revenue streams to optimize profitability.
- Collaborate with leadership to forecast resource needs.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high-quality standards.
Operational Performance & Execution
- Oversee daily branch operations, ensuring smooth execution of workflows and processes.
- Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Implement best practices in production, logistics, and supply chain management.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Inventory & Fleet Management
- Develop inventory control strategies to minimize waste and optimize stock levels.
- Ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and forecasting of staffing, material, and equipment needs.
- Oversee fleet management operations, ensuring vehicle maintenance, efficiency, and compliance. (Only at specific locations)
Customer Management & Service Excellence
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and industry partners.
- Ensure on-time delivery and service quality that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
- Work closely with sales and customer service teams to address client needs and concerns.
- Implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
Safety Oversight & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies across all operations.
- Drive safety training, audits, and compliance initiatives to maintain a zero-incident culture.
- Identify and mitigate safety risks while enforcing industry best practices.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team.
- Establish clear performance expectations and conduct regular evaluations.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance team skills.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Address performance issues proactively, implementing improvement plans when necessary.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in operations management, logistics, manufacturing, or a related industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Strong knowledge of fleet management, inventory control, and supply chain logistics.
- Experience in financial management, budgeting, and cost control.
- Proven ability to lead teams, improve processes, and drive operational efficiency.
- Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, and industry safety regulations.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with employees, vendors, and customers.
Preferred Skills & Competencies:
- Experience in construction, rebar fabrication, or steel industry operations.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, data analysis, and operational reporting tools.
- Ability to analyze data, forecast trends, and make strategic decisions.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Work setting: Office and field environment, including warehouse and job site visits.
- Work hours: Full-time, with flexibility to work extended hours as needed.
- Travel: Occasional travel to active work sites, customer locations, and industry events.
