Role and Responsibilities:
- Perform High-Quality CT Procedures:
- Execute a wide range of CT procedures, including but not limited to, head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and extremities, according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Ensure accurate patient positioning and utilize appropriate imaging parameters to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
- Minimize radiation exposure by adhering to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.
- Patient Care and Assessment:
- Provide compassionate and professional care to patients of all ages, including infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations.
- Assess patient conditions and medical histories to ensure safe and effective imaging procedures.
- Address patient concerns and provide clear explanations of procedures.
- Start IV's for the injection of contrast.
- Post-Processing and Image Analysis:
- Perform advanced post-processing techniques, including multiplanar reconstruction (MPR), 3D rendering, and volume rendering.
- Analyze and interpret CT images to identify anatomical structures and pathological findings.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology to provide valuable information to radiologists and physicians.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain CT equipment, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to safety standards.
- Perform quality control checks and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work enviroment.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Communicate patient information and imaging findings accurately and efficiently.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to departmental initiatives.
- Adhere to Regulatory Standards:
- Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
- Licensure:
- Current California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license upon hire.
- National Registered Technologist - Radiography (RT(R)) certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) upon hire.
- National Registered Technologist - Computed Tomography (RT(CT)) certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within one year of hire.
- Certification:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a CT Technologist in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Experience with various CT equipment vendors.
- Experience with PACS systems.
Ideal Candidate:
- Possesses a current ARRT (CT) certification.
- Demonstrates strong clinical skills and technical expertise in CT imaging.
