Position Summary
  • Guggenheim Securities Information Management ("GSIM") is seeking an experienced Desk Engineering Manager to join its User Experience Team. Reporting directly to the MD, User Experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft 365 technologies and hardware management. This role will be responsible for overseeing the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of desktop systems, ensuring optimal performance and security compliance.


Essential Job Functions
  • Lead and manage the desktop engineering team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Windows Endpoints (desktops, laptops, VDI).
  • Implement and manage Microsoft Modern Workplace solutions, including Intune, Microsoft 365, Windows 365 etc.
  • Manage, maintain, configure and troubleshooting the Microsoft Intune suite of tools including Configuration Manager, Applications Management, Analytics and Autopilot.
  • Ensure proper client health, managing deployment of all patches, critical updates and service packs on a timely basis.
  • Ensure all desktop systems comply with security policies and standards.
  • Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline desktop management tasks.
  • Monitor trends and problems to spot patterns and recommend new standards or process changes.
  • Provide advanced technical support for desktop-related issues, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of desktop systems.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of desktop configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Mentor and train junior desktop engineers and support staff.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven experience in managing desktop engineering teams or similar IT support function.
  • Experience with Azure Cloud, Azure AD, Entra ID, and Microsoft Intune.
  • Strong technical background in Windows endpoints, enterprise systems management, and IT security.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT support processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks, such as ITIL.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret performance metrics and data.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years related experience managing an enterprise technology support function.


Work Location
  • Currently, this role is expected to be in the New York office Monday - Thursday.


Salary
  • Annual base salary between $150,000 and $175,000.
  • The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
