ECS is seeking an IT Network Engineer to work in Quantico, VA.

ECS is seeking an experienced Network Engineer (Sr.) to support cutting-edge technology for law enforcement and scientific organizations. The Network Engineer will design, install, maintain, and evaluate network systems and communications systems.

Responsibilities of the Network Engineer include but are not limited to:
  • Gathers user network requirements utilizing multiple methodologies to provide necessary technical documentation, system requirements documents, systems security requirements documents, and system test plan.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues involving various protocols, topologies, networking hardware, etc.
  • Assist with network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies.
  • Utilize knowledge of internetworking, computer systems, routers, switches, firewalls, and peripherals to enhance understanding of current network designs and to collaborate with other team members to develop new network designs.
  • Apply technical and business experience and understanding to improve processes and procedures for deploying and maintaining network infrastructure.
  • Work independently and collectively to help improve network solutions and contribute to network service improvements.
  • Support Continuity of Operations (COOP) operations as needed.
  • Responsible for design, deployment, testing, certification, patching, backups, and addressing interoperability issues for all features, components, and application dependencies. To include switches, firewalls, load balancers, software defined networking, private cloud requirements, etc.
  • Document networking configurations, diagrams, and rack layouts.
  • Examine network vulnerabilities and determine actions to mitigate them ensuring compliance with NIST Security requirements.


  • US citizenship and active Top-Secret Clearance
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience recommended. In absence of years of experience, certifications or past work may be used to show the level of experience needed to perform at this level.
  • Experience engineering hardware and network designs for large-scale enterprise applications.
  • Experience coordinating activities of technology product and service vendors and leading technical infrastructure design activities.
  • Experience with Cisco networking hardware required.
