Description:
The Clinical Pharmacist Specialist with a faculty appointment at Temple University School of Pharmacy (TUSP) is a joint appointment between TUHS and TUSP and is responsible for the provision of advanced Clinical Pharmacy services within acute and ambulatory care settings at TUHS. Clinical responsibilities include interfacing with physicians and nurses, creating process improvements and providing medication therapy management. Reviews medication orders for compliance with aspects of Pharmaceutical Care. Provides patient education regarding medications. Contributes to specialty practice through committee participation and development of policies, procedures, and pharmacy practice protocols. Trains TUH and TUSP pharmacy practice residents. Coordinates and precepts (TUSP) Introductory and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPE/APPE) for Doctor of Pharmacy students. Trains pharmacist staff in areas related to acute and ambulatory care. Directly contributes to patient care through the coordination of departmental clinical practices and programs. Provides in-service education and drug information to health care professionals.
Education
Bachelors Degree : Pharmacy or PharmD (Required)
Other : PGY1 Pharmacy Residency or a relevant combination of education and experience (Required)
Experience
1 Year experience in institutional practice or residency (Required)
Previous experience precepting APPE and/or IPPE students (Preferred)
License/Certifications
RPH-LIC - PA Pharmacist License (Required)
BCPS - Cert Pharmacotherapy Spec (Preferred)
