Description:
The Medical Radiation Technologist II (MRT) performs all routine radiographic/fluoroscopic, computed tomography and interventional procedures, and may work in a specialized area and/or coordinate daily work activities of the MRT team. The MRT II also produces radiographs of high diagnostic quality in an efficient and safe manner while attending to the diagnostic and care needs of patients undergoing diagnostic/therapeutic procedures. The MRT II is responsible for the provision of services in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.
Required Qualifications: Graduate of a recognized Medical Radiation Technologist program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) required. BLS (Level C - Health Care Provider) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Two years experience as a Radiological Technologist I or II in a medium to large hospital (200-500 beds). Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot quickly and effectively. Able to provide leadership, coaching and motivation in routine and non-routine situations. Must be capable of performing all routine imaging procedure, exercise good judgement in the selection and application of technical factors and able to adapt to new techniques. Required to assist Radiologists in complicated and lengthy procedures.
