Role Overview:
The Solutions Marketing Manager will be responsible for supporting the marketing strategy and execution activities for New York Life's Business Solutions offerings and whole life insurance; this includes supporting the creation of content and key messaging, helping drive integrated go-to-market plans for these solutions; supporting the execution of new product launches, and collaborating with key stakeholders to tell the story of NYL solutions with strong packaging, messaging, and positioning in a highly relevant way for our target market segments. This role will partner with the agent sales distribution and strategy teams to educate, inform, and encourage the adoption of marketing programs, initiatives, and tactics to enable sales growth and support agent productivity, as well as meet client needs. This position will report up through Corporate Marketing but will work closely with both the Product Solutions Value Stream and Agency sales/strategy teams.
What You'll Do:
Responsible for developing actionable sales ideas and innovative and effective marketing materials, sales collateral, seminars, videos, tools, etc. to support the sales of employee benefit products.
Supports the development of marketing plans and tactics for Business Solutions and whole life insurance through consultation and collaboration with Marketing leaders, Agency sales and strategy teams and product leaders.
Will typically work in collaboration and consultation with the Business Solutions and whole life product managers and cross-functional marketing teams to support and develop the product positioning strategy, go-to-market plans, and product launch execution.
Assist marketing leaders in the development of product-related stories and messages in alignment with the brand messaging framework.
Conduct ongoing review and assessment of existing product support materials to ensure effectiveness, timeliness, relevancy, and appropriateness, with recommendations for improvement. This also includes monitoring and ensuring that materials are kept current for compliance purposes and are updated or revised to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
Collaborate across Corporate Marketing to ensure there is integration of marketing campaigns and resources to optimize market execution.
Proactively identify, monitor, and analyze competitors' products, sales focuses, and marketing strategies in the disability insurance space to identify opportunities.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience
5+ years of product or financial solution marketing experience, preferably related to employee benefits and life insurance products including group disability, employee benefit market, whole life insurance, LTC insurance, and insurance industry in general
Strong business acumen with the ability to work well in scenarios with ambiguity
Ability to successfully manage several projects concurrently through completion
Ability to navigate across multiple functions to establish buy-in and sign-off
Critical thinking and capacity for original thought
Communicate effectively to motivate, and influence people
Strong listening, information gathering and empathy skills for uncovering and defining deliverables, needs and outcomes
Innovative and creative mindset for initiating new ideas
Ability to interpret key data elements to identify opportunities across the positioning strategy, consumer segments, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of consumer needs and implications to business strategies, with ability to interact with sales teams
Strong planning, project management skills
Ability to understand the impact of decisions on other areas of the business
Strong objection handling and conflict management skills
Ability to develop, create and identify needed marketing collateral

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $108,000 - 130,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
