AWS is looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to join the AWS Analytics Engineering (AAE) team. This is your opportunity to be part of a team that has direct impact on foundational cloud services such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3), Amazon Q Developer, Serverless, Databases, Networking and many more

As a Senior BI engineer on this team, you will get the exciting opportunity to work on very large data sets in one of the world's largest and most complex data warehouse environments. You will create scalable solutions across AWS services, automate reporting systems, and develop self-service analytics capabilities. Working closely with product and business leaders, you will solve complex business problems and drive analytics strategy. This role requires a self-starter who excels in ambiguous, fast-paced environments, possesses strong attention to detail, and collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate must have strong attention to detail and proven experience delivering results with cross-functional teams.

Key job responsibilities
\tWork with business customers in understanding the business requirements and implementing solutions to support analytical and reporting needs.
\tDesign and implement large scale reporting solutions enabling stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.
Design and implement robust data models to automate generation of data driven actionable insights across multitude of AWS services.
\tDesign and implement an analytical environment using third-party and in-house reporting tools, modeling metadata, building reports and dashboards.
\tRecognize and use advanced analytical techniques to recommend prescribed/ optimized courses of action to users.
\tDefine and drive team analytical strategy to best support business leaders and executives' strategic decisions.
. Apply automation so that with every iteration on a problem, you build your solution to have maximum scale and self-service ability by stakeholders
Employ Gen AI, segmentation, forecasting and other analytical techniques to capture important trends
\tMentor junior engineers on the team with industrial standards and best practices.

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations - from foundational services such as Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS's services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you'll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- \tBachelor's Degree in Information System, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

- \t8+ years of experience analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.

- \t5+ years of experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

- \t5+ years of experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- \tExperience with AWS technologies such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

- \tExperience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

- \tExtensive experience working directly with business leadership and executives.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
