Overview
We're seeking a skilled and compassionate nurse to join our team. The Neurosurgery Clinical Nurse is a vital team member, helping to ensure that patients with neurosurgical disorders receive timely and effective care. Their expertise in handling complex medical scenarios and their ability to manage both the clinical and emotional needs of patients make them an essential part of the neurosurgical team.

The Clinical Nurse responsibilities and skills required for this role include:

Telephone Triage:
  • Assessing patient concerns over the phone to determine the severity of their condition.
  • Offering advice, guidance, or emergency care recommendations.
  • Prioritizing cases and ensuring that critical situations are handled promptly.

Collaboration with Healthcare Teams:
  • Working closely with neurosurgeons, advanced care practitioners, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  • Communicating patient information and updates to the team for better decision-making and patient management.

Care Plan Management:
  • Developing and managing care plans for patients with neurosurgical conditions.
  • Monitoring patient progress, adjusting care plans as needed, and ensuring continuity of care.

Patient Interaction through Telehealth Channels:
  • Utilizing phone and patient portals to communicate with patients, provide instructions, and address their concerns.
  • Ensuring clear and empathetic communication, as the remote nature of care requires attention to patient understanding.

Other Duties
  • Support ongoing patient education efforts related to neurosurgical conditions, procedures, and treatments.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the Neurosurgery Clinic.
  • Maintain compliance with institutional policies, state and federal regulations, and nursing best practices.

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8a-5pm position with the opportunity to work two days per week remotely, after an initial orientation period.

  • Qualifications
    • Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
