The Performance Analyst provides critical data analysis, reporting, and process support to drive the firm's performance management initiatives. This role develops and maintains performance metrics, facilitates formal feedback loops, supports calibration programs, and enhances skills-based workforce models. The Performance Analyst works closely with the Performance & Compensation team, People Business Partners, the DEI team, and other key stakeholders to ensure that performance, goal-setting, and assessment strategies are data-driven, equitable, and aligned with the firm's strategic objectives. Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:
The above salaries do not include a discretionary bonus, however bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance. The Performance Analyst works closely with the Performance & Compensation team, People Business Partners, the DEI team, and other key stakeholders to ensure that performance, goal-setting, and assessment strategies are data-driven, equitable, and aligned with the firm's strategic objectives. Essential job functions include:
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Collect, analyze, and interpret performance data from multiple sources (e.g., UKG, viGlobal, Learn & Perform, employee surveys, goal tracking tools) to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain performance-related dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights.
- Present performance-related findings and recommendations in clear, data-driven reports and visualizations.
Annual Performance Evaluation Frameworks
- Support the design, development, and continuous improvement of the annual performance evaluation framework that aligns with the firm's strategic objectives and performance management principles.
- Collaborate with P&C leaders, Performance & Compensation team, and other stakeholders to create evaluation models that are transparent, objective, and promote continuous improvement.
- Ensure that the framework incorporates best practices in goal setting, skills-based assessments, and formal feedback mechanisms.
Execution and Administration of the Annual Performance Cycle
- Partner with PBPs to manage and execute the annual performance review cycle, ensuring timely completion and consistent application of evaluation standards across all departments.
- Provide technical and analytical support for scheduling, tracking, and reporting on performance cycle milestones.
- Assist in troubleshooting process challenges and ensuring that feedback is integrated into performance discussions.
Goal Setting and Development Planning Support
- Assist in tracking and assessing the achievement of goals and development plans across various roles.
- Develop metrics and benchmarks to evaluate the effectiveness of goal-setting programs.
- Provide insights to inform adjustments in goal planning and performance improvement strategies
- Assist PBPs in tracking progress on individual and team goal achievement, leveraging analytics to inform performance discussions and career development planning.
Feedback Models
- Collaborate with PBPs to assist in the implementation and monitoring of formal feedback loops, including 360-degree feedback processes and continuous feedback mechanisms.
Calibration Programs and Process Optimization
- Collaborate with Performance & Compensation Team and PBPs to facilitate performance and compensation calibration sessions, ensuring consistency and fairness in performance evaluations.
- Analyze calibration session data to detect discrepancies and support standardized evaluation criteria across departments.
- Recommend process improvements based on feedback loop analysis and calibration outcomes.
Skills-Based Workforce Model Integration
- Assist in the development and ongoing maintenance of a skills taxonomy by collecting data on emerging competencies and tracking skills development across the firm, including core competency models and job-related skill guidelines.
- Integrate core competency models throughout the talent management process, including talent acquisitions, performance, goals, training, career development, to ensure a comprehensive approach to workforce development and alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with Professional Development and PSC Leaders to maintain the PSC Career Development Guidelines, including the development of new guidelines for new PSCs, ensuring that career paths are clearly defined and aligned with organizational goals.
- Analyze and report on the effectiveness of skills-based assessments and their impact on career progression and succession planning.
- Support initiatives that integrate skills assessments into performance reviews, goal setting, and feedback.
Collaboration with DEI Initiatives
- Work with the DEI team to ensure that performance and feedback processes are inclusive and equitable.
- Monitor and report on performance data to identify potential biases, disparities, or trends that could impact underrepresented groups.
- Provide analytics to support DEI-focused training and improvement initiatives.
Assessment Strategy
- Support the development and refinement of assessment strategies, including the development of a comprehensive menu of skills assessments in alignment with skill-based models.
Technology and System Support
- Leverage HR technology platforms to optimize data collection, performance tracking, and reporting processes.
- Ensure data integrity and confidentiality while managing sensitive performance information.
- Collaborate with IT and HR systems teams to implement new analytical tools and process improvements as needed.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Analytics, Data Science, Organizational Development, or a related field; or commensurate educational and professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in HR analytics, performance management, or a similar analytical role; experience in professional services or law firm settings preferred.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., UKG, Workday) and familiarity with performance management software.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights in an accessible manner.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including PBPs, DEI teams, and senior leadership.
- High level of professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive employee data.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, results-oriented approach.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with skills-based workforce models, goal setting frameworks, and performance calibration practices is highly desirable.

- State of Minnesota: $73,000 - $121,000
- State of New York: $68,000 - $147,000
- State of Washington: $71,000 - $135,000
- Washington, D.C.: $94,000 - $139,000
