Overview
Please note this position is based in our Phoenix, AZ Support Office.
The Data Architect is a technical position, with ultimate technical responsibility for ETL design and
development. The Data Architect designs and builds databases, develops strategies for warehouse
implementation, data acquisition and access, and data archiving and recovery. The Data Architect will
review new data sources for adherence to the standards set forth by the team. The candidate for this
position will have a deep understanding and many years of experience working with SQL. They will have
a track record of multiple project implementations with varying team and organizational sizes. The
candidate will also have a deep understanding of how their platform interacts with other technologies.
This will be considered a leader position, with responsibilities that include design, development,
implementation, documentation, and optimization of an assortment of solutions. Candidates for this
position will have prior experience delivering efficient, secure, high performance, and easy-to-support
solutions primarily within the Microsoft suite of technologies. They will also have prior experience in
providing technical leadership and direction to junior team members.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Management or seven to
ten years of equivalent experience
10+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL technologies
3+ years of experience with cloud-based solutions and/or hybrid connectivity
Strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical and decision-making skills, and
ability to work on cross-functional teams
Solid understanding and usage of source control solutions
Change and release management skills
Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Communication: Convey information, ideas, and feedback clearly and concisely in an engaging
manner that helps others understand and retain the message; listening actively to others.
Customer Focus: Place a high priority on the customer's perspective when making decisions

Essential Functions
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and design solutions
to meet business needs.
Provides technical leadership, creates standards for technical approaches and/or practices for
their platform
Maintains standards for interaction with their platform
Is responsible for the overall health and efficiency of their platform
Proactively work with other cross functional partners to keep their platform at a reasonable
version level
Provide guidance on the use of cloud data platform tools (Azure) for data storage and
processing.
Maintains awareness of trends, new tools, efficiencies - - shares with entire team on routine
basis
Establishes standards and best practices for database design, data integration, and data
warehousing, ensuing integrity and quality data.
Provides input and guidance to senior IT leadership for planning, forecasting, and budgeting
Design, document, develop, test, debug, deploy, and support a variety of customizations or
configurations for their platform
Provide leadership and mentorship to data engineering teams in the execution of data
architecture plans
Collaborate with Data Engineers, Software Developers, and Business Analysts to ensure data
architecture is aligned with operational analytic needs
