General Description

As Preconstruction Manager, you will be responsible for properly planning large project opportunities before/as they transition into construction. The Preconstruction Manager partners with account managers and operations staff to transform prospective opportunities into successful projects. Your role involves crafting competitive project proposals, managing client RFPs, producing custom-tailored logistical plans related to means and method of the work, and orchestrating the coordination of subcontractors. You will collaborate closely with design professionals and clients to streamline pre-planning, ensuring every project is primed and ready for construction.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Drive High Probability Opportunities: Work alongside account managers to identify and nurture project opportunities, setting the stage for successful collaborations. This sometimes involves assisting with and attending client presentations/pitches as the end of a sales cycle.
  • Master Preconstruction: Create and oversee preconstruction schedules, from managing job walks/ estimating to contemplating means and methods of a project. Your expertise will ensure every project is meticulously planned and executed.
  • Engage with Stakeholders: Attend key meetings with engineers, design professionals, property managers, and clients to discuss and advance project opportunities.
  • Network and Showcase Expertise: Represent us at networking events, demonstrating your construction knowledge and confidence to potential clients and partners.
  • Collaborate and Innovate: Assist in scope development, plan reviews, and drive preconstruction progress according to set schedules. Your role will include conducting and documenting regular preconstruction meetings.
  • Estimate and Propose: Coordinate with estimating teams to develop comprehensive bid tabs, manage subcontractor proposals, and craft final project proposals for clients.
  • Ensure Seamless Handoffs: Facilitate a smooth transition from preconstruction to production, maintaining clear communication with the production team to ensure project consistency.
  • Build Relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and trade partners, design professionals and clients enhancing our network and project success.

Key Selection Criteria:
  • Proven project management experience with a strong understanding of construction methods and safety laws.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in MS Excel, Word, MS Project, and Outlook.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to prioritize and make sound judgments.
  • Networking expertise with clients, design professionals, and subcontractors.
  • Experience in construction defect litigation and estimating is a plus.
  • High School Diploma required; a College Degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
