Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Applications, this position is responsible for evaluation, troubleshooting, optimization, customization and testing of Nextgen application and ancillary tools. Assist with streamlining application documentation and customization structure. Assist with application performance evaluation and implementation of ancillary utilities. Create automated reports for application audits and clinical reporting. Assist with evaluation of departmental Nextgen reporting workflows and streamline via automation. The Nextgen Applications Engineer I will work closely with Nextgen Application Specialists and Nextgen Business Systems Analyst/Auditor to evaluate current workflows, optimize template trigger performance, review audit report requirements for audit report automation. Assist Director of Clinical Applications with application upgrade requirement evaluation, preparation and upgrade execution. Nextgen Applications Engineer I will interact with other departments, clinic personnel, and outside providers in a professional and friendly manner, will create and maintain a positive relationship with our internal and external customers.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $40.27 and $47.37. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
- Design and customize Nextgen templates and documents as directed by Supervisor.
- Assist with clinical system upgrades, interface builds, application testing and data validation.
- Evaluate Nextgen workflows and audit processes to automate audit reports and optimize template performance.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of SQL.
- Create ad-hoc business intelligence reports for the user community, where appropriate, under the direction and
- review of Supervisor.
- Streamline application workflow documentation repository.
- Configure, support and troubleshoot Nextgen application and other 3rd party applications that interface with
- Nextgen.
- Receive, validate, clarify, and prioritize business unit requests from Supervisor.
- Identify template performance issues and provide corrective measures.
- Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support application dev.
- Manage relationships and expectations of Business and IT personnel through communication, priority setting and
- negotiation as needed.
- Participate in developing information and data models, leading to creation or enhancement of data warehouse to
- support business needs.
- Identify and track functional issues, driving toward resolution with appropriate business leaders and escalating, as
- needed, to Supervisor.
- Occasional travel (up to 15%) to BFMC/HPN sites or training facilities within the continental United States may be
- required, based on specific project assignment and business needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent experience preferred
- 2+ years' experience in report building and data mining.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of SQL and database structure.
- Experience with Managed Care systems analysis and functional design
- 1+ years' experience in EHR template development.
- 2+ years' Managed Care experience is a plus.
- Web application development experience is a plus.
- Experience with documentation and problem resolution.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills that non-technical end users can understand.
- Position requires ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and automate processes for software and workflow optimization.
