Ozz Electric BC Inc. is looking for a BIM/CAD Manager!

Position Summary

The BIM/CAD Manager's primary function is to manage the process of Building Information Modelling projects, which includes the initial set-up and BIM implementation based on the company standards, training for BIM designers designated to specific projects, project-phasing deliverables based on electrical workflow in construction and quality control. This would encompass managing a team of production coordinators, designers and technicians and own the construction-documents set through as-built submittals. It is also critical for them to lead model management and BIM planning, collaboration and coordination on projects they are leading. The position becomes the go - to person on the project for modeling, documentation and verifying design intent during BIM coordination and construction phases.

Roles & Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Continuous development and maintenance of Ozz BIM standards and templates.
  • Assist BIM staff in deploying project-templates on projects and ensuring team adherence to them.
  • Produce coordinated shop drawings for fabrication and field installation.
  • Support BIM users to maintain efficient and effective BIM operations. Act as a coach and a mentor to train team members with relative BIM skills and technology.
  • Coordination and mentoring of Revit based teams during a project.
  • Assist in the development, documentation, communication, and administration of BIM standards. Such as: BIM Execution Plan, schedule of deliverables, project phasing or construction sequence.
  • BIM content development, documentation, and administration of BIM training.
  • Assist in research and recommendation of current and emerging BIM related technologies and practices.
  • Promote best practices to improve production efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain effective labor relations through compliance with company policies, labor agreements, and resolution of employee grievances and fair treatment of employees.
  • Provide support, coaching and training to Foreman on any labor, site, or technical issues.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience implementing BIM in a medium to large sized project scope in the MEP BIM Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience pertaining to Engineering BIM
  • Superior knowledge of Revit with direct experience using prior versions.
  • Passion for BIM technologies with ability to promote these technologies and practices to increase user effectiveness.
  • Customer Service oriented with commitment to working within a team environment.
  • Superior interpersonal skills. Able to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Strong, self-motivated work ethic with the ability to introduce enhanced workflows and constant update towards newer methodologies to execute projects.
  • Organized and methodical with a resourceful capacity for resolving challenges.
